Ecosystem to accelerate integrated photonics solutions

The world faces new societal and technological challenges. Integrated photonics is a key enabling technology to create scalable solutions. By working together in a mission driven ecosystem we will succeed. We innovate, reduce time-to-market and create economy of scale.

The entire supply chain on integrated photonics works together

Our partners are technology leaders in integrated photonics modules, with a specialty in single and hybrid InP and SiN waveguide technologies.

Technological leadership alone is not enough. A fragmented approach by individual organizations to deal with the technological complexities to build an integrated photonics application will never be successful. Market driven, disruptive innovation occurs when companies can build upon knowledge and experience of a distinguished high-tech industry and leading research institutes. That’s why our universities and companies work together throughout the supply chain and, as a result, are frontrunners in integrated photonics applications and technologies. Customers benefit from this ecosystem in terms of innovation, reduced time-to-market and economies of scale. Our cooperation is dedicated towards the needs of customers that want to be innovation leaders in their markets.

PhotonDelta is a European network consisting of researchers, chip designers, foundries and software developers. Our goal is to develop a sustainable ecosystem that can have a significant impact on our customers, in future applications and in solving social and technological challenges. PhotonDelta provides the necessary access to a.o. networks, knowledge, business development and funding.

We provide our partners:

Access to;
- the ecosystem Community and European network
- the ecosystem Application labs
- the ecosystem cutting edge shared infrastructure: multi-project wafer run, testing and assembly and packaging

Knowledge;
We have high qualified knowledge institutes and we believe in disruptive innovation by means of knowledge sharing within the community.

Business Development;
We engage in early co-operations with leading players, scale-ups & start-ups across Datacom and Telecom, Medical devices and Life sciences, infrastructure and Transportation, Food and Agriculture markets to co-create and bring to market meaningful solutions.

Funding;
Within our ecosystem we provide leveraged funding for business growth, business driven roadmaps and shared infra and have access to a funding network equipped for all growth stages.

If you are interested in joining our ecosystem as a partner, please contact us through our contactform on this website or meet us at the events we attend.

Technologies

The pace of technological progress keeps on rapidly changing the world we live in delivering ever smarter solutions improving our lives. At the same time, this proliferation is now hitting the limits of what is possible with conventional technologies.

Markets

Integrated Photonics leads to significant improvements in cost and/or power savings in existing applications and, in view of its miniaturization and more reliable control of light also makes many new applications possible.

Engage with us

Particularly if you are an equipment manufacturer, but also if you are a system integrator, a services provider or an end-user, interested in building new solutions and applications with integrated photonics, do not hesitate to engage with us.

Measuring progress on JePPIX InPulse Pilot Line

18th December 2019

PhotonDelta is participating in the EU project InPulse, the Indium-Phosphide Pilot Line for prototyping PIC’s. The great challenge for the Pilot Line is to ensure that customers are offered a seamless one-stop-shop to do their first prototype, assuming they require an Indium-Phosphide Photonic Integrated Circuit.

The Sustainable Exploitation Advisory Board of the project is formed by PhotonDelta and 3 InP foundries -  SMART Photonics (NL), HHI (DE), III-V Lab (FR). On the 18th of December, the board sat together to discuss and measure progress against the targets set in the proposal and agreed with the European Union.

An inspiring visit of DG Vijselaar to PhotonDelta

5th December 2019

After a successful PhotonDelta day, today we had a visit of DG Focco Vijselaar and Director Michiel Sweers (Ministry of Economic Affairs) to PhotonDelta in Nijmegen! A deep dive session in the key enabling technology of integrated photonics and the semiconductor industry. A fruitful and potential cooperation! Thank you CITC Netherlands, Novio Tech Campus, NXP Semiconductors, Nexperia and Business Cluster Semiconductors Netherlands.
